Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was sworn in as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sunday in a ceremony here attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP national president Amit Shah and senior leaders L. K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi as well as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were among those present at the occasion.

Mufti will head the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state and will be the chief minister for full six-year term.

This is the second time he will be heading a coalition government. In 2002, he led a PDP-Congress alliance and was chief minister for three years.
