Nine people were reported missing and two were injured following an explosion in a chemical plant in east China on Wednesday, local authorities said.
A blast ripped through the 401 workshop of Shandong Tianbao Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in Shandong Province, at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
All nine workers in the workshop were missing for while two in a neighbouring workshop were injured.
The nine missing included a 26-year-old woman and eight men aged between 24 and 41.
The cause of the blast was under investigation.
The company, founded in 1958, was a designated manufacturer of explosive materials for civil use.
