One killed in Turkey as hot air balloon lands hard

One foreign tourist was killed and many others injured when a hot air balloon landed hard in central Turkey Wednesday, media reported.

The balloon, which belongs to private Atmosphere Ballooning Company, fell near Guvercinlik Valley in Capadokya region of Nevsehir province in central Turkey at 8.15 a.m. Xinhua reported citing private Dogan news agency.

It added that a Chinese tourist was killed and many others from China and Malaysia were injured.

The Turkish emergency service and security forces have rushed to the scene as an investigation is under way, according to the report.
