An undertrial prisoner was beaten to death on Saturday in a clash between two groups of inmates in a jail here, prompting authorities to suspend two jail wardens.
According to Beur jail officials, undertrial prisoner Chandan Kumar, 20, was beaten to death during the clash and a case of murder was lodged against six inmates.
Beur jail authorities started a probe into the incident.
"Two jail wardens were suspended on charges of negligence of duty that resulted into violent clash between two groups of inmates in the Beur central jail," a jail official said.
