Two CRPF personnel were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Left-wing extremists in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Friday and were evacuated by an Indian Air Force helicopter.

IAF officials said the two injured Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were evacuated to Raipur for medical treatment by an Mi-17V5 helicopter of IAF. The blast was triggered near Dornapal in Sukma district.

"Responding with alacrity to the call for casualty evacuation from CRPF, IAF team deployed at Jagadalpur swung into action and got airborne within minutes of receiving the request from the CRPF to evacuate their jawans injured in the IED blast," an IAF official said.
