Floor-crossing, with a difference

Nafisa Ali agreeing to be the Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Lok Sabha nominee from Lucknow came as a bit of a surprise to the country’s social set, but no one was more surprised than the Congress Party. General Secretary Digvijay Singh, who is in charge of the party’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh, told journalists that she had been shortlisted as a Congress candidate from Uttar Pradesh and it was to his utter astonishment that he read that she had joined the SP.
