Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sudhir Mungantiwar alleged that about 27 legislators from the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party have expressed their desire to resign from their respective parties and join the BJP. They are prepared to seek fresh election on BJP tickets.
"The atmosphere is favourable for the BJP in Maharashtra, and people have faith in the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and his development model. Support is flowing from every party. The BJP will take a call on 27 legislators from the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party who are ready to support the government," Mungantiwar said.
He added that the BJP-led government in the state will not face any problem to prove majority on the floor of House.
The BJP has 121 members, plus one member of its ally Rashtriya Samaj Party. The BJP has already got support from 12 independents. This apart, NCP with its 41 members in the Assembly has already declared its support from outside.
