Ajay Mathur, director general, The Energy and Resources Institute, speaks to Jyoti Mukul, on issues relating to electrification of transport and the problems facing the automobile industry. How do you view the budget thrust on Electric Vehicles (EVs) and whether the IT rebate of Rs 1,50,000 will push consumers to buy EV?

The IT rebate of Rs 1.5 lakh a vehicle will help nudge some users towards buying
