Tata Motors extends CNG options to Indica, Indigo

Having been among the first manufacturers to offer a Bharat Stage II compliant CNG Indica in the National Capital Region (NCR) in the year 2001, Tata Motors has now launched the Bharat Stage III compliant CNG versions of the Indica and the Indigo Marina, besides its existing popular diesel and petrol offerings.
The CNG option is now available as an after-market fitment, at the dealer level through a tie-up that the company has entered into with Shrimankar Gas Car Services, the Indian distributors for Bedini CNG kits, Italy. Customers now benefit from a dual fuel option as the car retains its 37 litre petrol tank, besides the 60 litre CNG tank. The car has a driving range of 140 kms on CNG, and can be switched onto the normal petrol mode in case a CNG refill is not possible. The vehicles come with the normal unlimited km. manufacturer's warranty for 18 months.
The new offerings will be available at dealerships in Mumbai, the National Capital Region (NCR), which includes Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, NOIDA and Gurgaon, and progressively in the key cities in Gujarat. The company is also working on LPG offerings on its car range which will be launched soon.
Tata Motors is the largest automobile company in India and the second largest in the Indian private sector, with sales of over 454,000 vehicles and a turnover of over Rs.24,000 crores in the last fiscal. The company enjoys the second largest share of the passenger vehicle market in India. It has sold over a million passenger vehicles since the start of the business in 1991.
