17 kanwariyas injured as tin shed collapses

Atleast 17 kanwariyas, pilgrim-devotees of Lord Shiva, were injured when a tin shed collapsed because of rain showers early this morning in Khatoli town in this district, the police said.

Six of the injured were referred to a district hospital in serious condition, they said.

According to Circle Officer Rajiv Kumar Singh, the incident took place when the pilgrims were taking rest under the tin shed of a petrol pump.

The injured who on their way back from Haridwar to Meerut, Ghaziabad and Delhi, he said.
