18 injured in blast in furnace unit in Mandi Gobindgarh

Eighteen workers were today injured due to explosion in a furnace unit at Mandi Gobindgarh here, police said.

Among the injured, 11 were serious and have been admitted to hospitals in Ludhiana and Khanna, SHO Mandi Gobindgarh Narinder Singh said.

The exact cause of explosion in the furnace unit was yet to be ascertained, he said, adding it was being investigated.
