With the arrest of a fake journalist and driver of a former top ranking official of Delhi Legislative Assembly and fake stickers and parking passes recovered from them, Delhi Police today claimed to have unearthed a potential threat to the security of Vidhan Sabha.

"In a raid in Rohini area, Crime Branch arrested two persons including Vinod Bansal and Jitender and recovered several forged identity-cards, stickers and parking passes of Delhi Legislative Assembly and forged stamp marked 'DVS' (Delhi Vidhan Sabha) and one stolen car having forged number plate," said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner(Crime) of Police.

Vinod, who posed as reporter of a news channel, was arrested while trying to sell forged I-cards, parking passes and stickers of the Legislative Assembly to a decoy customer set up by the Crime Branch, on June 22, he said.

"He disclosed during interrogation that he procured the I-cards and VIP passes and stickers from the former Deputy secretary Lalmani and after his transfer in 2015, he had started purchasing the same from his private driver Jitender Kumar," the officer said.

Acting on the information provided by Vinod, Jitender, who supplied him with fake ID cards, passes and stickers, was arrested from his home in Burari.

Jitender told the Crime Branch sleuths that he obtained the stickers, passes and ID cards from an employee of Delhi Vidhan Sabha identified as Khatri.

Raids were conducted though Khatri was yet to be arrested, added the officer.
