2 held with heroin, ganja in Mizoram

Two persons were arrested from two different places in Mizoram after 14 grams of heroin and six kilogrammes of ganja were seized from them, a state Excise and Narcotics department release said here today.

Lalremruata (25) from Myanmar's Haimual was arrested with the heroin in the outskirts of the city yesterday, it said, adding, that the man, later in the interrogation, admitted to smuggling the contraband from Myanmar.

Muankimi (39) from Teikhang was held with six kilogrammes of ganja near the state's border with Manipur, it said.

Both the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, the release added.
