3 held for molesting woman accompanying French tourists in UP

The UP Police said today they have arrested three persons for allegedly beating up and molesting a woman from Varanasi, who, along with a group of French tourists, was visiting the Lakhania Dari Waterfall here.

Station House Officer of Ahraura police station, Praveen Singh, said: "There was no attack on any foreign national."

He said the woman, a resident of Varanasi, was molested by some miscreants, and was also beaten up.

"The vehicle by which she had come here carried about half a dozen French tourists," he said.

The woman later filed a complaint with the police, based on which the three persons were arrested, the official added.
