Three persons were seriously injured when the vehicle they were riding hit the divider on Narkeldanga Main Road in the early hours today, police said.
The incident happened at around 7.30 am when a driving school vehicle veered to save a child who was crossing the road and its driver lost control and it hit the divider.
While two persons on the back seat were rushed to a nearby hospital, disaster management personnel rescued the driver after cutting open the front door of the vehicle, police said.
All the three are stated to be critical by doctors at the state-run hospital, the police added.
