Three persons were killed while another injured when their car was hit bya speeding tempo today on the Shimla-Rohroo National Highway, around 35 km from here, police said.
The car was headed for Rohroo from Shimla when it collided with a tempo coming from the opposite direction. Siblings Nisha and Anup died on the spot, while driver Dharmendra succumbed to injuries on the way to a hospital, they added.
Arun, another occupant of the car, was rushed to the Indira Gandhi Medical College here and his condition was stated to be serious, officials said.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the accident took place due to rash and negligent driving by tempo driver Anil Kumar, the police said, adding that a case was registered at Theog police station under sections 279 and 337 of IPC and investigation was underway.
