300 houses gutted in fire in Bihar

A major fire broke out today gutting 300 houses in a village under Kochadhaman block in Bihar's Kishanganj district, an official said.

However, nobody was injured in the fire that broke out in Sundarbari village due to spark from the kitchen of a house. The fire spread out to the entire area gutting 300 houses of the minority community, Additional Collector Virendra Kumar Mishra said.

Household goods worth over Rs one crore comprising gold and silver jewelleries and other valuables were destroyed in the blaze, he said.
