Four members of a family, including three women, today died of electrocution after coming in contact with a high-tension wire in Masit village under Bhojipura police station area here, police said.
Chandra Pal (50) was working with a long iron rod on his handpump when it came in contact with a high-tension electric line running overhead, they said.
Pal, his wife Veena Devi (48) and daughter Chitra Devi (20) rushed to his rescue and died on the spot while another daughter Kranti Devi (18) succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to a hospital, police said.
Senior officials rushed to the spot later, they added.
