54 criminals booked for keeping links with Pak smugglers

Punjab Police today booked 54 criminals for allegedly having links with Pakistani smugglers across the border.

All the accused were booked under various sections of the NDPS, Arms, Indian Passport and Foreigner Acts in two different police stations of Amritsar, police said.

They said the accused smuggled toxic substances like heroin, smack and opium and had links with smugglers in Pakistan. They were also involved in circulation of fake currency.

None of them have, however, been arrested, police added.
