7 killed in road mishap in J&K

Seven persons were killed, when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, police said today.

The incident occurred last night in Paddar belt of the said district. The vehicle skidded off the Kishtwar-Himachal Pradesh road and rolled down into 500-foot deep gorge, a police officer said.

"Seven persons travelling in the vehicle including its driver were killed in the mishap last night," he said.

Bodies of the seven victims were recovered, the officer said.
