Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has revived Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar prize scheme, which was scrapped during previous Mayawati government.
"The CM has revived the scheme to felicitate persons having significant contribution in the field of bravery, sports and literature," an official spokesman said here today.
The prize money has also been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, he said.
The scheme, launched in 2003, was scrapped during Mayawati regime in 2009.
