Assam Governor JB Patnaik today administered the oath of office to the state's new Upalokayukta Justice (Retd) Hareswar Barua.
Justice Barua, formerly of the Gauhati High Court, was sworn in a simple ceremony by the Governor at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here.
Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor Ajay Tewari read out the warrant of appointment amid the presence of state Minister for Planning and Development Tanka Bahadur Rai and Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla among others.
