Lauding the role played by migrant labourers in the overall development of Punjab, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said his government will provide free education and health-care facilities to them.
Speaking at a function organised by 'Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Parishad' to celebrate Vishwakarma Diwas here, Badal said the state would soon open schools and primary health centres or dispensaries in areas dominated by migrant labourers.
He said he had directed deputy commissioners to conduct surveys for identifying such areas.

The Chief Minister also said the state would provide housing facility to migrants on easy installments.
He said the migrants would not have to pay the cost of land, while the construction charges would be collected from them through easy installments.
Badal assured the people that one-third of the houses constructed under housing schemes would be reserved for the migrants so that these people 'feel at home' in the state.
Special camps would be organised by the district authorities to make Ration, Adhaar and Voter cards of all eligible migrants. He said eligible beneficiaries would get subsidised atta and dal under the Atta-Dal scheme of the state government.
