The ancestral home of one of the two judges who banned Bangaldesh's opposition leader Khaleda Zia's son from appearing in the media was today set on fire by unidentified miscreants.

The miscreants hurled two crude bombs at High Court judge Quazi Reza-Ul Haque's ancestral house in southeastern Feni district, police said.

Haque is one of the two judges who on Tuesday banned the reporting of BNP senior vice president Tarique Rahman's statements as long as he remains a fugitive. Rahman stays in the UK since 2008.

Recently, the BNP leader in a programme broadcast from abroad called for an agitation until the government is destabilised.

Bangaldesh is gripped by a political turmoil after the BNP called a non-stop transport blockade in the country to protest the first anniversary of the controversial January 5 polls which brought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasine to power.
