Birender Singh opens Facebook, Twitter accounts

Amid increased focus by Modi government on utilising social media platforms for development-related works, Union Minister Birender Singh today launched his Facebook and Twitter accounts to facilitate interaction with public.

"I believe two way dialogue is key to #goodgovernance and PM @narendramodi's initiative @_DigitalIndia is a laudable step towards this goal," the rural development minister said in his welcome tweet, underscoring the importance of two-way communication in decision-making.

"I welcome one and all to reach me with their views on my twitter and facebook platforms," the minister said in another tweet.

His Twitter handle also gives a link to his Facebook account.
