Press Trust of India Mumbai
Black pepper prices dropped in an otherwise listless spices market here today on reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid subdued export offtake.

Meanwhile, other spices including ginger and copra held stable in the absence of any large-scale buying.

Black pepper slid further by Rs 10/10 per kg to Rs 420/510 from last Saturday's close at Rs 430/520.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 420/510 (430/520), Ginger unbleached (per kg) 135 (135), Copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 12,000 (12,000), Copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,800 (11,800), Copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,500 (16,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,800 (13,800).
