Body of suspected militant found in J-K

The body of a suspected militant was today found in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said.

The person had apparently died of cold following the recent snowfall in the higher reaches of the Valley and efforts are on to identify the deceased, a police official said.

The official said that the body of the suspected militant was recovered along with an AK assault rifle and some ammunition at Trumnard forest during the course of a search operation.

Rashtriya Rifles and police had launched a massive search operation in the area yesterday following information about presence of some militants, the official said.
