A seven year-old boy died due to alleged medical negligence in a government hospital today, police said.
The deceased, Alex Raj, who was admitted to Victoria Hospital for liver problem on March 24, died today despite best efforts by doctors, hospital sources said.
"Though we have registered the complaint filed by Alex's parents who are daily wagers, the actual cause of death can be ascertained only after we receive the post-mortem report", Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division) H S Revanna said.
The police station inside Victoria Hospital premises is probing the case.
