A nine-year-old boy was died while six others including four children were injured when lightening struck at two places in Khunti district today.
In the first incident, the deputy commissioner of Khunti, Prasad Krishna Baghmare said six children, who have taken shelter under a tree when rain accompanied by thunderbolt struck Manhu village in Khunti block this afternoon.
One boy identified as Sachin Munda died on the spot while four others suffered injuries, he said.
In an another incident, two persons sustained injuries for similar reason at Ondra village under Khunti police station.
All the injured have been rushed to the nearby hospitals, where they were stated to be out of danger, Baghmare added.
