Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi today criticised bureaucrats for "lack of commitment" and said political authorities should motivate the officials to reach out to people.
"The bureaucracy in the state does not work with a sense of commitment which is a must when it comes to delivering. I think those in power will have to take initiatives to motivate officials for an increased outreach," Qureshi told reporters here yesterday.
Citing lack of development in the hill areas as the biggest challenge before the government, he said planning for sustainable development with a livelihood-based management of natural resources is the need of the hour.
