As part of its overall efforts to create more awareness among people on the need to vote,Chennai Corporation has launched a campaign ahead of the coming assembly polls by putting up banners with catchy slogans in bus shelters, a top election official said here today.
The banners have been put up in over 60 locations, covering 98 bus shelters in Chennai.
Slogans specific for each target audience segment like youth, women and men are embossed on vinyl banners and pasted on the front-top portion of the bus shelters, Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said in a statement.

For example, one such banner targeting students says, "Karthi and his friends are 100 per cent ready to bunk classes, are they ready to vote? get ready now to vote 100 per cent, to register your names log on to
www.Elections.Tn.Gov.In."
Banners have been put up at bus shelters near Queen Marys College, Quaide-E-Millath College, EVR Salai, and Anna Salai.
