CBI today arrested a Regional Manager of Kendriya Bhandar here who was extracting two per cent of bills from suppliers as illegal gratification for clearing their bills.
The agency caught red-handed Manoj Gupta, Regional Manager, Kendriya Bhandar while he was accepting Rs 2,550, which was two per cent of the bill amount, from a supplier, CBI sources said.
During searches at his office, 10 envelopes containing a total of Rs 52,825 were also recovered from his office drawer which are believed to be bribes received from different suppliers, the sources said.
During searches at his residence, cash worth Rs 18 lakh were recovered, the sources said.
They said searches are still going on.
