Private utility CESC today reported a net profit of Rs 244 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, marginally up from Rs 243 crore a year ago.
Sales were up at Rs 1,401 crore during the quarter, from Rs 1,229 crore in the year-ago period.
Chairman Sanjiv Goenka said rise in expenses other than coal cost is the reason for slow growth in net profit in spite of higher sales.
