The first social and people-to- people dialogue between China and the United States will be held in Washington later this week, a Chinese Foreign ministry official said today.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, on September 28, will co-chair the dialogue with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang told a media briefing here.
The two sides will exchange views on bilateral issues and cooperation in relevant areas, he said.

"China would like to work with the United States for a positive outcome from the dialogue," Lu said.
The meeting is one of the four high-level dialogues established during the summit between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump in Florida in April.
At that meeting, the two sides agreed to establish high- level dialogue mechanisms, including the diplomatic and security dialogue, the comprehensive economic dialogue, the law enforcement and cybersecurity dialogue, and the social and people-to-people dialogue.
