Classical music programmes mark Diwali 'Padwa'

Several classical music programmes were organised here to mark 'Padwa' - the third day of Diwali - the festival of lights.

Pandit Krishnendra Wadikar, Aarati Ankalikar-Tikekar, Pandit Nandkumar Deshpande and other artists performed at the programmes.

The festival was celebrated with pomp and gaiety as houses and commercial establishments were decked up with lanterns and flowers.

Meanwhile, thousands of devotees thronged the Shirdi shrine in neighbouring Ahmednagar district to mark the festival.
