Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has urged the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar to initiate immediate steps to fill the post of Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry university, a central institution.
A release from office of Chief Minister said Narayanasamy had a meeting with the Central Minister in Delhi today and urged the latter to post a full fledged Vice chancellor.
The post is being looked after under additional charge by a Dean of the University.

The release said that the Chief Minister also requested Javadekar to ensure that Puducherry was sanctioned a branch of Indian Institute of Management.
He also requested the Central minister to exempt Puducherry from the purview of NEET for admission of students to medical colleges here.
