Cold wave swept across Rajasthan today affecting normal life with Churu registering a minimum temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, about 5 notches below normal.
Mercury dipped by one to four degrees at most places due to northerly cold wind conditions prevailing since yesterday, a report from the MeT department said.
People in the Pink City woke up to a cloudy sky and cold winds, and its minimum temperature dipped to 9.4 degrees Celsius, about two notches less than yesterday's.
People in Srigangangar also experienced the first cold wave spell with a minimum temperature of 3.7 degrees Celsius followed by Pilani 4.3 degrees Celsius, while Mount Abu, the sole hill station, recorded a minimum of 6.4 degrees Celsius.
Elsewhere the minimum temperature varied between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius last night which included Ajmer, Kota, Barmer Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner.
Rains or thundershowers are likely by tomorrow due to a western disturbance passing through north-west, the MeT said.
