Pre-monsoon showers bring respite from heat to Rajasthan

Pre-monsoon showers due to movement of South West monsoon today brought further respite from hot weather conditions in Rajasthan as Jaisalmer and Kota were the hottest places in the state.
Light to moderate rains occurred at many places since morning as Sriganganagar recorded 7 mm rainfall followed by Bikaner 5.2 mm and Churu 0.5 mm.
Mercury further dipped by one to three degrees at most places and the maximum temperature ranged between 36.3 to 40 degree Celsius at these places including Ajmer, Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Barmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Churu and Ganganagar.
Thunderstorm, dust storm or squall may hit at some places in the north west of Rajasthan in next 24 hours, a MeT forecast said.
