A man allegedly axed his wife to death in the Agency area of Mangapet mandal today, police said.
The incident took place at Borunarsapuram village.
Punem Narsaiah, the accused, and his wife Swaroopa quarreled frequently, said Eturnagaram circle inspector Kishore Kumar.
He attacked the wife today following a quarrel last night, the inspector said. She died on the spot.
The couple's two sons called the neighbours who alerted the police and handed over Narsaiah, Kumar said.
