Commodities move up in wholesale foodgrains market

Barring wheat, prices of all other commodities showed an increase in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week under review.

Thoor dal and moong dal opened the week at Rs 13,000 and Rs 9,200, up by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal from its previous closing rate of Rs 12,700 and Rs 9,000, and remained that way.

Urad dal, gram dal and sugar closed the week at Rs 13,800, Rs 6,400 and Rs 3,900, its price increasing twice on Monday and Friday from its previous closing rate of Rs 13,400, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,550.

Similarly, price of sooji (90 kg) decreased by Rs 200 on Tuesday and again increased by Rs 200 on Friday from 3,200 to close the week at same previous rate.
 

Maida (90 kg) opened the week at Rs 2,500, an increase of Rs 100 from its previous rate of Rs 2,400.

Price of wheat at Rs 2,600 ruled steady throughout the week.
