A minor girl was allegedly raped by a 34-year-old man in Vasco town here, following which the accused was arrested today, police said.
The incident took place yesterday at around 6:30 PM at a construction site where the accused, identified as Vinod Kumar, and the parents of the 12-year-old girl worked, police said.
Kumar, originally from Gopalganj district of Bihar and currently residing in Vasco, was untraceable after the incident but was arrested in the wee hours today, they said.
He has been charged under section 8(2) of Goa Children's Act and sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police added.
