An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police was today sentenced to three years in jail for taking bribe.
Additional Sessions Judge Dilbag Singh Johal convicted and sentenced ASI Kanwer Jaswinder Pal Singh and also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000.
Singh was nabbed by the vigilance department while taking bribe, according to an official spokesperson.
He said that a case under Section 7 and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered against him here on July 10, 2013.
