The death toll due to swine flu in Punjab has reached 49, an official said today.
As many as 49 people have succumbed to H1N1 virus in Punjab this year, an official spokesman of Punjab Health department said here.
The number of positive cases has reached 227 while the suspected number of patients is 545, he said.

Out of total 7 samples tested today, two have been found tested positive for H1N1 virus, one each from Bathinda and Fatehgarh Sahib, the official said.
The officials have maintained that the situation is under control.
However, as per the Union Health Ministry's figure, the disease has killed 51 persons in Punjab.
