Former Himachal chief minister P K Dhumal today ridiculed statements of Congress Ministers claiming uniform development in the state, and accused the Virbhadra Singh government of making a mess of finances and demanded a "white paper" on financial position of the state.

Rubbishing the claims of the Ministers, Dhumal alleged that 70 per cent of the poll promises have not been fulfilled, the government has increased the debt burden by more than Rs 10,000 crore, landing the state in debt trap.

He also claimed that the number of unemployed youth in the state has crossed 10.5 lakh and the government had backed out on its promise to give unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 per month to youth.

Forest, drug, mining and other mafias are active in the state, law and order situation has deteriorated to a new low while public distribution system has collapsed, he said in a statement issued here today.

State BJP general secretaries Randhir Sharma, Vipin Parmar and Rajiv Bindal have termed the three year rule of Congress government in the state as "black period" in the history of Himachal.

In a joint statement issued here today, the three leaders alleged that there was no major achievement of the government and it was "renaming" the schemes started by the previous BJP government to derive credit.

"Most of the schemes like free 108 ambulance service, subsidised foodgrains, small irrigation scheme, Health insurance scheme were started during the previous BJP regime but the Congress government is trying to take credit for these schemes by changing the names," they alleged.
