Direct sellers seek exemption on commission under GST

Direct selling agents have asked the government to remove 18 per cent GST on the commission paid to them by companies and their distributors.

The imposition of 18 per cent GST on commissions paid to direct selling distributors would impact the direct selling industry.

Moreover, the government has exempted the LIC agents from GST and have sought similar status, said a joint statement from Federation of Direct Selling Association (FDSA) and Direct Selling Distributors Welfare Association (DSDWA).

Yes Bank, Santander UK ink pact to boost UK-India trade * Santander UK plc and Yes Bank today said that they have signed an agreement to help boost UK-India trade and local business networking opportunities.
 

Through the new partnership, Santander will be able to offer its clients access to banking facilities and local support in India through Yes Bank's network.

Yes Bank's customers will gain access to the range of financial and practical support that Santander offers businesses looking to trade internationally, a release said.

The new arrangement is one of a series that Santander has in place around the world to help boost international trade links.
