The Election Commission today removed a police officer in Durgapur town from election duty in response to a complaint received by it.
EC officials said they had received a complaint that the officer-in-charge of Durgapur Police Station did not stop a motorbike rally brought out by a local CPI-M leader on April 8.
All rallies on motorised two-wheelers are banned by the poll watchdog.
