Elderly woman killed in Lucknow

An elderly woman was allegedly killed by unidentified persons in a posh locality in Hussainganj area, police said today.

Body of 70-year-old Pushpalata Chabbra was recovered from her clay square residence yesterday with injury marks on head and neck.

Prima facie she was strangulated and also attacked with a sharp-edged weapon, they said.

The incident came to light when the deceased's nephew Baldev, who lived nearby, called her after lights of her house were not lit up till late evening.
