A family travelling in an SUV was allegedly robbed of cash and ornaments by around six armed robbers on Agra-Jaipur National Highway in Dausa district today.
The victims were on their way to Ajmer to visit Dargah Sharif from Uttar Pradesh when the robbers chased their vehicle in another SUV and stopped them near Kherwad turn after posing as policemen in the wee hours.
Mohammad Raju's family was robbed of Rs 34,000 cash and ornaments. The robbers then decamped along with the keys of Raju's vehicle, police said.

Two men, four women and six minors were travelling in the vehicle.
"After the incident, the family reached a petrol pump and informed police control room. The robbers have not been identified so far and efforts are on," the police said.
A case has been registered with Sadar police station under appropriate sections of the IPC and efforts are on to identify and locate the robbers.
