Five get life term in a murder case

A district court here today sentenced five persons to life imprisonment for murdering a man two years ago.

Besides awarding the life term, additional district and sessions judge Ravishankar Tiwari also imposed Rs 1,000 fine on each of the five -- Bhola Singh alias Dadan Singh, Arvind Singh, Munna Singh, Manish Singh and Babban Singh.

According to prosecution, the convicts had attacked Lal Bahadur Singh with sharp edged weapons wounding him severely in Bhatauli village under Nawanagar police station on March 25, 2012 following a dispute over harvesting of mustard.

He later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim's family members lodged a named FIR against these five men.
