Five children were today injured in a fireworks explosion here with villagers claiming that the kids were imitating a movie scene shot in the area some time back.
The children had collected the left over crackers after a wedding. They filled them in a bottle and set it afire, leading to the explosion, police said, adding five children were injured.
Sonu (9), who had set afire the explosives, suffered serious injuries, police said. The other injured have been identified as Noor Mohammad (10), Akhtar (8), Faizan (10) and Tauheed (8).
The locals told the police that the children were trying to imitate a scene shot in the village by a film crew last year.
Shrawasti is about 160 km from Lucknow and borders Nepal.
